Custom Axis Pro Air Front Shocks Kawasaki KFX 450R
SKU: caxisproairKFXR
|
Overview
The concept of an air shock is not new. When Custom Axis decided to build an air shock for ATV racing, we could have copied an existing design, used our superior materials and tighter tolerances, and still had the best shock available. Instead, we decided to take the concept to a new level. One of the most common complaints with other air shocks is roll stiffness versus plush suspension feel. In other words, on some other brands of shock absorbers, if you use enough pressure to prevent rolling in the corners, it feels too stiff everywhere else.
The Custom Axis Pro Air eliminates this trade off with our two separate air chambers. One chamber controls ride height and initial plush feel, while the other controls roll stiffness and bottoming resistance. This allows you to rail the corners yet still maintain control over braking bumps and choppy track surfaces.
Inside the air spring system is our race-proven hydraulic piggyback shocks. Based on years of development, this patent-pending shock absorber uses a volume of nitrogen or air to create the needed suspension spring rate and maintains a traditional hydraulic shock absorber at it heart.
Dual-stage air effect technology allows the user to independently tune ride height and spring rate for the ultimate in customization to track conditions and riding styles. Imagine having traditional spring shocks, a whole truckload full of tender springs, main springs, and crossovers, and imagine that you can change them in a few seconds without disassembling half of your front end. Now imagine you can't feel any of the friction and harsh steps of the springs and crossovers and that you don't seem to notice any hard bottoming out. Now you know what Custom Axis Pro Air shocks are all about.
Features:
Comes standard with Double Adjustable Damping (1 Compression, 1 Rebound).
Optional Triple Adjustable Damping (2 Compression (hi-lo), 1 Rebound).
Easy to Grab and Adjust Compression and Rebound Knobs.
Auxiliary Air Chamber to Allow Independent Tuning of Spring Rate Progression and Ride Height.
Low-Friction Seals and Wipers for Low Breakaway Force.
WC/C Coated Inner Tube for Added Durability and Low-Friction.
Carbon Fiber Roost Guard.
Modular Design to Allow Retrofit to Existing Shocks.
Benefits:
Reduced Suspension Weight.
Progressive Air Spring Effect not Achievable with Standard Coil Springs.
Infinite Adjustment of Spring Rate and Ride Height.
Race Winning Components.
Available Upgrades:
X-Link System:
While standard shocks react independently of one another , the X-Link forces your front suspension to work as a complete system, which in turn allows your quad to more quickly react to varying jumps, turns, and terrain conditions.
* More Planted Feel in Turns.
* Added Anti-Roll Stability.
* Increased Anti-Bottoming Effect.
* Extra Plush Ride.
Hole Shot System:
The Axis Hole Shot System (HSS) is a pneumatic system available with most front rebound adjustable shocks. HSS was designed to maintain a constant shock force off the line to counteract weight transfer on launch, providing exceptional traction to the first corner.
How does HSS Technology work? While the ATV is on the line getting ready to start a race, the HSS is pressurized to lock out the rebound adjustment. After the first straight away, the rider pushes a button with his left hand to deactivate and return to normal suspension characteristics. Easily mountable, HSS fittings thread right into the bottom of the rebound adjuster and the manifold mounts directly to the handlebar. Rider friendly and simple to use, HSS is guaranteed to improve your quad’s jump off the line.
Plush Ride System:
The Custom Axis Plush Ride System (PRS) is a patent pending, anti-bottoming system available as an upgrade on our Pro Air, Piggyback Coil Spring, and Remote Rear Coil Spring shocks. PRS provides progressively higher damping force as the suspension nears bottom, and is controlled more effectively and consistently than typical bump rubbers. By separating full travel anti-bottoming resistance from normal ride situations, PRS riders enjoy an extremely plush, compliant suspension.
* Faster Jump Landing Recovery.
* Lower Ride Height.
* Added Stability throughout Cornering.
* Improved Traction.
* Drastically Reduced Rider Fatigue and Arm Pump.
Multi-spring or air spring suspensions typically require major increases to their main spring rate to resist bottoming, which negatively impacts ride characteristics. With the Plush Ride System, ATV riders can enjoy an optimum, no compromise, setup with a “best of both worlds” feel.
